FIVE RULES FOR THE GROWING A BEARD.

As a man, it's more than likely you will have thought about growing a beard at some point in your life.
Most of us have certainly tried to do it too. For many who have attempted, it may just not have worked out the first time. You were young, you were silly and it truly did look awful didn't it? Getting back on the horse further down the line however is something that we truly advocate. Any man with the ability to grow even the finest facial hair should give it another go - staring up in admiration at those already stood at the top of the furry-faced mountain with their flags firmly pitched.
Beards enhance confidence, allow men to stand out and can even define careers. They unite men socially - have done for years and essentially represent a right of passage in the marathon that is life. It is something that some manage to achieve seemingly easier than others. This is, however by no means due to a natural difference in hair type or skin tone as commonly believed. As you will soon discover, it is all down to a crucial difference in approach and attitude.
Treat this guide by our Master Barber Alex Glover  as the essential lifestyle propaganda that it is. This gentlemen, in assured writing, is how you grow a beard...

1-Start from afresh.

If you’re looking to start growing a new beard, be sure to start from nothing. Set aside some time and have a proper shave so that your skin is fresh and well treated. This will minimise any early signs of irritation or underlying skin problems.
Remember that thorough preparation is crucial in regards to how your skin will respond to your blade. Before shaving you should wash your face using Cleansing Facial Wash to cleanse pores of excess oils, dirt and dead skin. After gently drying your face, applying Pre-Shave Oil will help soften the beard and nourish the skin ahead of applying your Shave Cream lather and beginning to work with your blade.

2-Persistence.

Your beard may be itchy for the first two weeks or even up to the first month and a half of growth.
Primarily caused by a daily accumulation of dirt, dead skin cells and dehydration, the levels of discomfort endured can be a struggle - even a few day's worth of stubble can be enough to spur irritation. It's also important to remember that no matter how clean you keep newly grown facial hair, natural itchiness as part of your bearded initiation will occur, generally caused by new hair's capability of collecting rogue dirt.
Products such as Beard Moisturiser and Oil can be used to combat this, but the main thing to remember is that the itchiness will eventually leave. You realistically want to grow your beard for about three months before you can appreciate its true potential and the true fullness.
Be sure to also read the Murdock Barbers' expert 3-step grooming guide, guaranteed to help treat immense levels of irritation.

3-Find a shape that suits you.

Different shapes suit different beards. There are charts all over the internet that you can look up for comparisons. Ideally though, you should pop in to your local Murdock branch and get some professional advice. Once you’ve decided where you want to go with the beard, stick to it. There’s always the temptation caused by beard envy to hack away and try something that really just looks better on your mate or that particular male model...

4-Play to your strengths.

If your beard is patchy in areas you can work with this. Incorporate this into shapes with your barber or even exaggerate patchy spots by using a razor and shaving into the beard (i.e. achieving low cheek lines or a high neck line). Avoid trying overly-extravagant shapes as they will be difficult to re-create at home yourself.

Look how happy having a beard makes these two beaming chaps!

5-Take Pride In Your Beard.

To maintain your beard, be sure to use a specialist Shampoo & Conditioner to cleanse, soften and untangle long and coarse hairs. A well-groomed beard is second to none when further combed or brushed through - leaving no knots and a healthy shine. For a complete maintenance guide, see the Murdock Barbers' expert step-by-step recommendations.
For regular care, pop in to see your barber every couple of weeks for a tidy-up and trim to help reach those tricky areas. Beard Trims can range from £20 -£45 so if you’re in the mood, book an appointment to treat yourself and your beard. From this point on just enjoy your fine facial hair and the compliments that should come with it.

5 SECRETS TO GROW A REALLY SEXY BEARD

5 Secrets to Grow a Really Sexy Beard
 By: Guest Blogger from www.topmenshavers.com
Beards are back! A well groomed beard can be seen as a sign of power and manliness, which is why many of the most influential men grow one. Unlucky for some, they are not able to grow beards as others get to enjoy.
Nonetheless, at the end of the day, it is all about patience and the right set of tools. Here are 5 secrets on what you can do to grow a sexy beard:

Choose a Good Beard Shape for your Face
  1. The shape of your face is highly indicative of the best beard shape that will make you look sexy. Your beard can be effectively used to show off your best features and disguise features that are not so appealing.
  2. For a squared face, keep a beard full on the chin and short on the sides.
  3. For the round face, the beard should be long on the bottom and short on the sides.
  4. For rectangular faces, having a short and trimmed beard is perfect.
  5. Meanwhile, if you have an oval face, you are fortunate since you can work with almost all styles of beards.

Be Patient when Growing your Beard
Patience is a virtue, even when it comes to growing beards. Your beard will not miraculously grow in tip-top shape just overnight. Keep in mind that the rate of its growth will depend on various factors, such as genetics and your level of testosterone. You should also keep in mind that the measurement of beard is not on the basis of length, but on months you had it grown.

Trim it Like a Pro
Once you have grown your beard, make sure to find time to have it trimmed or go to the barber shop for professional help, at least in the beginning. After you get the hang of it you can do it yourself at home with the right type of beard trimmer. While you have no direct control over where and how the beard grows, you can have control on how to have it styled through trimming.

Groom with the Use of the Right Products
There are many products that will make the beard look sexier. For instance, you can use a beard conditioner or beard balm or oil to avoid dryness or roughness. More so, you can also use grooming products that will allow the beard to grow thicker, giving you the flexibility to have it trimmed and style as you desire.

Match your Beard Style with a Sexy Celebrity
Have you ever been envious with how girls go gaga over guys they see on TV because of the beards that make them hotter? Use their beards as the inspiration for growing your own. Once you have already grown beard with the right thickness, have it trimmed following the style of the celebrity with a beard that you like. For best results, seek for help from a barber to help you achieve the look

Get and Grow a Beard Faster

So, you want to look manly? Or is it that you need more hair, but you have none.
Here's a guide on how to grow your facial hair quickly. Of course, you'll need to keep in mind that it needs patience and sometimes luck to grow a superb beard. But don't be disheartened. Just follow my steps and you might be on your way to one superb, fast-growing beard!

Don't Shave

One of my friends, who was only 13 at the time, used to shave in hopes of growing a beard quicker that way. I'm sure you've heard of that trick. Yet, have you tried it numerous times, only with no results?
You won't see any success from following this "trick" — because it is only a myth. The truth is, shaving has no relationship with your facial hair growth. I know some people even also believe that applying shaving cream on your face will make the hair grow faster! Sorry, guys. This won't work either.
The truth is, if your facial hair is growing at a slow rate, you should actually try to shave less often. Don't waste what little hair you do have by shaving it!

Rogiane

Rogaine or Minoxidil is a medicine known for its hair growth capabilities. This is an over-the-counter drug (meaning you don't need a prescription) that comes in the form of a foam applied onto your skin. Apply it to your face, and don't wash for around four hours.
Keep in mind that there are some side effects, too.
  • The most common being a burning sensation in your eyes, itching, and irritation on the applied area.
  • You may also experience unwanted hair growth.
  • Those with extra sensitive skin may have an allergic reaction.
  • Dandruff is also a common side effect.
If this doesn't suit you, then don't use it. If you do choose to use it, good luck!

Biotin

Vitamin B7 or Biotin is also beneficial for for hair growth.
  • Its rich, natural source is derived from raw egg yolk. However if you consume the egg white part, its effectiveness will reduce.
  • Another good source of natural biotin comes from peanuts.
  • This is also available in a capsule or pill form. A 3mg capsule of Biotin may stimulate your facial hair growth.

Rogaine or Biotin?

Which one is better?
  • Rogaine is more powerful, but has more side effects.
  • Biotin is less stronger acting, but quite harmless.
The choice lies on you. Rogaine usage must be stopped if you face any issues, but Biotin will not give you such quick and direct side effects. Both these drugs can be purchased from online stores like eBay.

Clean Your Face

If you're not seeing much facial hair growth and just little hairs, don't fret. Take care of these small hairs.
  • Regularly clean your face and do not let dust particles and dried cells gather around your facial hair roots.
  • You may have an itchy rash from your hair growth. To prevent this and to clean your beard, use a dandruff shampoo thrice or twice a week.
  • You can also try a watered lemon extract.

Massage Your Face

Apply some massage oil to your face and gently rub your cheeks. Eucalyptus oil is very good for this purpose. But do not rub your face too rough, be gentle, to get better results. The sweet scented eucalyptus oil is also very good for your hair’s general health.
These are the methods you can follow to grow your beard faster. Feel free to comment or share your own methods for hair growth.
Remember, don't go for highly advertised but unknown or dubious products! Good luck.

How to Grow Facial Hair

There was a time when dewy actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling and many others started gracing red carpets with cheek-fringe that gave them a somber look. Today, the beard, a traditional signifier of wisdom and age in many cultures, has become a symbol of masculinity and youthful rebellion. From raising cancer awareness to looking masculine, men grow a beard for many different reasons. For some, it is a matter of few days. For others, it requires weeks of waiting to see their facial hair grow big. Remember, it won't grow overnight, but taking vitamins, keeping your skin healthy and so on will definitely make a difference.

How to Grow Facial Hair

1

Clean and Moisturize Your Face

If you want to know how to make facial hair grow faster, simply start by keeping your skin clean. Dirt, oil and dead skin can clog those tiny pores and keep hair follicles from breaking through.
  • Wash your face with warm water and apply facial cleanser twice a day.
  • Avoid standard soaps because they can be too abrasive and damage your skin.
  • Don't stick to a timetable, but wash your face at any time when it gets dirty with oil or sweat.
  • Sometimes, an itchy rash will develop while you try to grow facial hair. Don't worry and a dandruff shampoo will resolve the issue.
  • After washing your face, use a moisturizing facial lotion to avoid dryness that leads to dead skin cells.
  • Remember, new beard hair will always cause some irritation, but the prickly sensations usually subside in a week or so.
2

Massage Your Face

The next measure in the list of how to grow facial hair fast is a facial massage. A light massage may improve the growth of facial hair because it helps keep those pores unclogged and hair follicles healthy. It doesn't involve anything technical though and even small circular movements of your fingers will do the trick. A 10-minute to 15-minute-massage is usually enough to encourage faster facial hair growth.
3

Add Protein and Saturated Fat into Diet

Fat and protein play a big role in improving the growth of facial hair. Your hair is actually composed of protein with coatings of fats and oils. Moreover, protein and fat have a positive impact on testosterone levels. The higher the levels is, the higher the chances of you growing a beard quickly. It means adding protein and saturated fat into your diet will ensure a mustache or beard in a short time. So add fish, beans, egg and animal fat to get protein and provide your body with enough saturated fats to grow a beard in days.
4

Eat Foods Rich in Vitamin

Load your body up with all the right vitamins to make it easier to grow facial hair quickly. Vitamin B5, B9 and B3 are important for overall health, but B7, found in egg yolk and nuts, holds great importance in growing facial hair quickly. Vitamin B3 and B5, known to improve circulation, are present in beef, chicken, egg yolk, fish, milk, avocado and many whole grains. Folic acid and vitamin B9 improve your ability to grow thick hair, which can be found in nuts, cereals and leafy green veggies. Other important vitamins include vitamin A that helps maintain sebum and follicles, vitamin C that strengthens your immune system, and vitamin E that improves your blood circulation. You can take multivitamin supplements to provide your body with all the vitamins you need.
5

Reduce Stress

Another way to know how to grow facial hair fast is to live a stress-free life. Learn to chill out, if you love your hair. Stress leaves negative effects on your hair by thinning out the hair and hindering its growth. Don't worry too much about how others will perceive you after you've grown a beard. Stress disturbs your immune system, which will limit your ability to grow a beard. Meditation or exercises, such as yoga, will help release anxiety.
6

Sleep Well

A good night's sleep will help you stay fit and a healthy person is more likely to grow a beard quickly. Your body replenishes its energy while sleeping, which means insufficient sleep (less than six hours) will make it difficult for you to grow facial hair. Take at least eight hours sleep regularly to see positive results.
7

Do Exercise Regularly

Staying active is important. You cannot just sleep all the time and hope for your beard to grow quickly. Your emphasis should be on exercises that improve blood circulation, leading to high metabolic rate. With a better metabolic rate and proper circulation, your body will use the nutrients from your food to stimulate hair growth. Be sure to spend at least 15-20 minutes a day walking, swimming or doing other aerobic exercises.
8

Give It Time

It takes time to grow facial hair, and people often get impatient. You may even have to go through tough times, while you're still growing your beard. You will hear people making nasty comments. Don't give up and understand that once the wait is over, people will admire your new appearance when you meet them while sporting a full beard.
9

Testosterone Therapy

Testosterone therapy is the first medical methods for growing facial hair. Testosterone will determine how quickly you can grow a beard, but never forget that too much testosterone has its negative effects. You can apply testosterone through topical applications, injections or even taking it orally. Please note that you cannot store testosterone, so you have to develop and stick to a strict supplement regiment until you see results.
10

Plastic Surgery

For some men, it is just not possible to grow a beard no matter how hard they try. When nothing else works, a plastic surgery does. A surgeon will transplant hair follicles from your scalp to your face. The method usually works, but takes up to a year or two before you actually see some positive results.

Why a Beard Makes You Look Hotter

The next Movember, which is also known as No-Shave November, is still several months away. However, this does not mean that you should switch to a clean-shaven look, especially if you are interested in attracting the attention of a potential mate.
scientific study conducted by the Official Journal of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society also indicated that specific types of facial hair have a major impact on how others perceive individuals with a beard.
Therefore, depending on your personal preferences, you might want to grow a yeardor stick with thick stubble.
So what type of beard is right for your lifestyle? That depends on which qualities you want to be associated with:
  1. Most Attractive - Female participants in studies that have analyzed male facial hair have rated heavy stubble as the most attractive look. Men equally enjoyed the appearance of heavy stubble or a full beard.
  2. Healthiest - Men and women indicated that men who have a full beard appear to be healthier than those without any type of facial hair.
  3. Best Parenting Skills - This was another category that both genders ascribed to men who maintain a full beard.
  4. Masculinity - The perception of a man's masculinity increases with the amount of facial hair that he has. So if you want to be seen as a highly masculine individual, you should consider cultivating a full beard.

Men who are clean-shaven or who have a light amount of stubble were rated as being the least attractive by women and men.
Additionally, it is interesting to note that a heterosexual woman's interest in masculine looking men becomes more pronounced during the ovulation portion of her fertility cycle. In other words, if you and your female spouse or partner have been trying to conceive or are dealing with intimacy issues, it could be beneficial to grow your facial hair out.
After all, increasing your level of attractiveness in your partner's eyes is definitely a good way to boost their sex drive.
There are also scientifically proven health benefits associated with having a beard. According to researchers from the University of Southern Queensland, beards are able to block up to 95 percent of the sun's harmful UV rays, and this will reduce your risk of contracting skin cancer.
Men who suffer from asthma could experience some relief from symptoms by growing a beard because this will help prevent dust and pollen from getting into their respiratory system. As an added bonus, a full beard will keep your skin looking healthier and more youthful.
It sounds like it is time to toss out your razors, gentlemen, but make sure that you take steps to keep your beard in good shape so that you can look your best!
